Rain Water Harvesting

Designing a small cistern can save a developer a lot of money. However, a large cistern means homeowners benefit more from rain water harvesting. Turquoise Ridge has a cistern capacity of 40,000 gallons which allows plenty of rainwater harvesting. It is acknowledged that in general swimming pools are not considered to be that environmentally friendly due to the amount of fresh water they consume; however after the 2009 hurricane we were able to refill the entire pool with the cistern water collected from the roof - thus saving the extra cost of using reverse osmosis water.
